Globe valves are closing down valves in which closure member is moved squarely off and on the seat. Irrespective of its shape, it is customary to refer its closure member as a disc. The seat opening varies in different proportion to travel of disc in this mode of disc travel. The proportional relationship between disc travel and valve opening is ideally suited for duties that involves of regulation of flow rate.
In addition screwed stem control seating load of globe valves in positive manner and disc move with little or no friction onto the seat, depending on design of disc and seat. The sealing capacity of these valves is potentially high therefore.
When fully opened under pressure Cast Iron Double Flanged Globe Valve usually has Bolted Bonnet, Flexible Disc for suitable repacking and Gasket Joint Renewable Seats. Flanges are drilled and faced as 125 Ratings, B 16.5 ANSI B 16.10 respectively.
