The thought of pulley can bring the conventional picture of industrial use to one’s mind. Thinking of ropes and pulleys, one immediately gets an idea of it being required to pull up any sort of heavy objects, increasing the mechanical advantage in rope or wire type system. Multiple pulleys along with single fixed pulleys provide better mechanical advantage; however, less system efficiency is seen since each of these pulleys loses certain amount of force due to friction.
Specialized pulley’s system uses in block and tackle system that enables operators to lift extreme heavy loads with minimum effort. There are two fixed and moving pulleys, which forms a set in the same block.
Immovable
This is of the simple type of system. The wheel is fixed in a particular point and works by changing its direction of the force applied. This is beneficial because one does not have to push an object or neither pulls it directly in order to move it. Sometimes it requires large effort to move this object compared to other systems.
Movable
In this type, the wheel moves with the object that it is displacing. This arrangement allows loading the lift with less force. It multiplies the force with the force applied by users. By application of small force, the load can be displaced at the quicker pace.
Combined
These pulleys are a combination of movable and fixed and they possess the benefit of both. There is minimal application to lift it without pushing or pulling. This pulley is highly modified ,which make the task easier.
For Industrial Use
For modern industrial uses, pulley is distinguished by belt type. There are other types of pulleys like round belt, timing belt and V Belt pulleys and these are used for corresponding belt type. For example, time belt pulleys contain notched teeth and spaced with mesh with teeth of the matching belt. The V belt pulleys contain angled belt track in order to match V shaped belts that passes through it.
There are many types of flat pulleys, which are used in industrial area. These pulleys are all long lasting performance enhanced products for industry that can provide a lot of benefit to the user.
